It’s back to school and back to a regular schedule for my studio!  

Lessons will be in Seattle at Metropolitan Music on Tuesdays 3-9 and Saturdays 10-3 and in Kirkland at Metropolitan Music on Wednesdays 1-6:30 and Thursdays 2:30-9.  Please let me know your plans—if you can’t schedule regular lessons on the site, let me know and I will try to get you your preferred time.

Thursday September 5 will be a short day due to a staff meeting for Bellevue Youth Symphony at 5pm.  The schedule is already altered on the website for that date.

The Winter Recital will be in early December.  Details TBA.

Summer lessons will be in Seattle on Tuesdays and Saturdays and in Kirkland on Wednesdays and Thursdays.  Please see the mymusicstaff page for details and sign-ups.

I will be teaching Reeds 101 (noon-2) and Deciphering Chord Symbols (3-5) on Friday July 12 and Friday August 23 at Metropolitan Music in Kirkland.  

Reeds 101 is a hands-on 2 hour class that covers basic reed handling and how to adjust reeds with sandpaper or tools.  Required equipment: instrument, reeds, 350 grit sandpaper or reed tool.

Deciphering Chord Symbols is a performance focused 2 hour class for beginning improvisers.  It covers what notes are in the Chord based on the symbol and how to find a key with the chords.  Required equipment: instrument, pencil, staff paper.
