The Spring Recital will be at University Prep on May 21st at 3pm in the band room. Please let me know if you can make it and if not, you will need to submit a recording of your performance to be played at intermission.
Live participants:
—If anyone wants to record this, please let me know. I would like to have a copy of the recital available to the subscription part of my website, but I cannot operate the camera during the recital. Thanks!
—The recital is for people who started lessons with me before April 1–unless you already feel ready to perform!
—Dress appropriately—look nice with no logos or holes in your clothes. Ties and dresses are unnecessary, but a nice shirt and slacks are suggested.
—There will be speakers and a piano available (as well as stands) as needed.
—I will let you in the main entrance of the school and walk you to the band room. It’s a bit of a maze until you get used to it.
—Arrive AT LEAST 15 minutes early.
———————
Virtual participants:
—Recordings need to be of good quality—listen to them and check your video to be sure that you like your presentation.
—Dress nicely, but no ties or dresses are required.
—Record several times and choose the best one to send.
Recitals generally run 70-90 minutes, but can be a bit over that depending on numbers.

There are going to be some changes in the autumn of 2022. Here are the main ones:
— lessons in Seattle will be on Tuesdays as usual and Friday is an all-Zoom day
— lessons in Kirkland will be on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Please note the change of day.
— lessons on Mercer Island on Thursdays are for island residento and are not for Zoom lessons. Any other teaching day can be a zoom lesson.
— Mercer Island is still tentative, but should start with the beginning of the school year at Mercer Island high school.
— Existing students will see lesson fees go up by $1.50 per half hour at the start of a school year. New students will pay the rate listed on my homepage.
— I am going to try to have recitals be in person this school year, pandemic permitting. Anyone who cannot make the recital date will need to submit a video recording that will be played at intermission in the live performances.
i’m looking forward to a more normal school year and to seeing everyone!
